Waterproofing under tiles protects the area beneath the covering as part of a complete solution. Selection depends on the room, substrate, water and whether use is indoors or outdoors. The membrane, detailing tapes and adhesive must be compatible.
Assess bathrooms, terraces and pools separately
A shower wall, exposed terrace and permanently submerged area face different exposure. An under-tile application alone does not establish suitability for every wet area. Check the substrate, joints and pipe penetrations as well.
Layers, thickness and covering
Follow the specified preparation, primer, number of coats, thickness and waiting time before tiling. Tiles and grout do not replace the membrane or treatment of critical details.

Tiles and grout are not treated as a standalone watertight system. Provide a membrane and compatible details for the wet area.

Construct critical connections with suitable details according to the selected system. Coating alone does not replace the specified treatment.

This is a stated application. Follow the data sheet, preparation, thickness and requirements for subsequent layers.
How are quantity and cost calculated?
From area, preparation, consumption of the specific layers and details. Compare the same scope of materials and installation.
Can products from different brands be combined?
Only with established compatibility for the particular system solution. Sharing a category does not establish that arbitrary materials work together.
