SikaBond® T-8 is a 1-component polyurethane waterproofing adhesive for floor tiles. It is used when one product is required to create a watertight layer and bond tiles on balconies, terraces, loggias, kitchens, bathrooms and other floor areas exposed to water.
When should SikaBond T-8 be selected?
Choose SikaBond® T-8 when you need waterproofing and tile adhesive in one product, especially for floor tiles on balconies and terraces. This is not a standard cementitious tile adhesive, but an elastic polyurethane adhesive applied in two layers: the first layer for waterproofing and the second layer for bonding.

Preparation and application
The substrate must be clean, dry, sound, homogeneous and free from oils, grease, dust, cement laitance and layers with poor adhesion. Concrete and cement screeds must be ground and cleaned with an industrial vacuum cleaner. Old glazed or ceramic tiles must be degreased and cleaned with SikaCleaner® or ground and cleaned.
Important limitations
- Do not use for bonding on vertical surfaces.
- Rigid tile adhesives must not be used over the elastic waterproofing layer made with SikaBond® T-8.
- Do not use on PE, PP, PTFE/Teflon and other plasticised synthetic materials without written confirmation from the technical department.
- Sufficient air humidity is required for proper curing.
Before ordering
Send the area, tile type, substrate, whether old tiles are present, whether the area is a bathroom, kitchen, balcony or terrace, and whether you need waterproofing and bonding at the same time. This allows us to check whether SikaBond® T-8 is the right choice or whether a separate liquid waterproofing membrane plus cementitious adhesive would be better.
