Sikalastic®-6100 FX is a 1-component, elastic, flexible, lightweight cementitious membrane for waterproofing and concrete protection. The product is mixed only with water, applied manually or by spray, and forms a seamless membrane resistant to positive and negative water pressure.
When to choose Sikalastic 6100 FX?
Choose Sikalastic®-6100 FX when you need a strong waterproofing solution for more than one type of project: bathroom, shower enclosure, balcony, terrace, small roof area, foundation, concrete wall, swimming pool under tiles, tank, or an area subject to constant water exposure. This is not a standard rigid cementitious skim coat, but an elastic membrane with crack-bridging properties, UV resistance, and protection of concrete against carbonation and chloride attack.
Why the product is so strong
- UV-resistant - can be used as a final exposed coating in exterior applications without deterioration of mechanical performance according to the TDS.
- Waterproof at 2 mm - withstands up to 5 bar positive water pressure and up to 2.5 bar negative pressure.
- Elastic down to -10 °C - retains elasticity under water and at low temperatures.
- Bridges cracks - class A4 at +23 °C, A3 at -10 °C, and dynamic crack bridging B3.1.
- Fast return to service - second coat after 2-5 hours; water pressure and mechanical loading after approximately 3 days.
- Breathable coating - permeable to water vapour, but with very low capillary water absorption.
- Concrete protection - high resistance to CO₂ diffusion, sulfate resistance, and protection against chloride attack.
- Suitable for potable water - the TDS states compliance with Directive (EU) 2020/2184 and WRAS approval.
- Low consumption - lightweight formula; one 15 kg bag covers approximately 8.3 m² at 2 mm.

UV protection and exterior application
The most important advantage for exterior projects is UV resistance. Sikalastic®-6100 FX can function as a visible final coating in exterior applications when the substrate is correctly prepared and site conditions comply with the TDS. This makes it a very strong choice for details, balconies, terraces, small roof areas, and concrete surfaces where water, sun, and temperature changes act on the system at the same time.
Sikalastic 6100 FX or another Sika product?
If you need an elastic cementitious waterproofing with UV resistance and a wide application range, Sikalastic®-6100 FX is the stronger all-round choice. If you need a classic 2-component waterproofing under tiles, compare it with SikaTop® Seal-107 Elastik. Preparation and limitations
The substrate must be sound, clean, and free from oil, grease, dust, loose particles, defective old coatings, and materials that reduce adhesion. Sikalastic®-6100 FX is applied to a pre-dampened substrate, but without standing water. Do not apply to frozen surfaces, and do not work if the temperature may fall below +5 °C within the next 24 hours. Avoid application in direct sunlight.
Before ordering
Send the area, substrate type, whether it is indoors or outdoors, whether tiles will be installed, and whether there is constant water exposure, cracks, joints, drains, upstands, or contact with potable water. This allows the correct thickness and consumption to be confirmed, and whether Sikalastic®-6100 FX is the best system for your project.
