Texture is part of product selection
The different grain sizes create different surface effects. Check the particular grade’s intended function and the desired result before choosing. A smooth floor, textured wall and decorative detail do not necessarily use the same specification.
A lime base still requires a complete system
The substrate must be stable and suitably prepared, with compatible resin, colour and protection. Do not automatically transfer consumption rates or formulations from Sttandard or another microcement. Check the technical sheet and finishing system before ordering.

Specify floor or wall, area, substrate, desired texture and finish. Compare complete systems and exact packs. Coat consumption and substrate preparation matter more to cost per m² than an isolated container price.

Questions about Natture lime-based coating
What is Natture, and is it the same as tadelakt?
Natture is a two-component thin decorative coating based on lime and mixed with Acricem acrylic resin. It creates mineral finishes on floors and walls. Depending on aggregate grade and trowelling, its appearance can resemble tadelakt or exposed concrete.
Natture is not equivalent to traditional tadelakt and should not automatically be installed using traditional tadelakt methods. It uses its own base and finish coats, appropriate primer and protective coating. A lime-based formulation does not make it a stand-alone waterproofing system.
What is the difference between Natture XL, L and M?
Natture XL is the coarsest of the three grades, L has a finer mineral structure, and M is the finishing material for a smoother surface. XL and L serve as base coats but may also provide the decorative finish where a more pronounced texture is required. M is applied over the prepared base for a finer result.
All three grades have floor and wall applications. Select them for the intended texture and system build-up, rather than following a blanket rule that coarse products are for floors and fine products for walls.
Can Natture be used on floors, walls and terraces?
Yes. The range has floor and wall applications indoors and outdoors. For floors, assess traffic, wear resistance and the protective sealer. On terraces, falls, drainage, weather exposure and slip-resistance requirements are particularly important.
Use a complete compatible system on a sound substrate. A concrete-like appearance does not mean Natture replaces a concrete slab or is automatically suitable for vehicles. Specify any special loading before selecting materials.
Is Natture suitable for bathrooms, and does it replace waterproofing?
Natture can form part of a decorative bathroom system when the substrate, details and final sealer are selected for the water exposure. In shower areas, waterproofing, falls and connections to drains and pipe penetrations must be resolved before applying the decorative material.
The lime-based coating does not replace that preparation. Presealer and a compatible protective varnish are required for the particular use. Natture should not replace Atlanttic Aquaciment in a swimming pool under permanent immersion.
What is Natture mixed with, and can water replace the resin?
Natture is mixed with Acricem, which forms component B of the system. The ratio differs for XL, L and M and must be measured according to the relevant product instructions. Replacing the resin with water or another system’s resin is not equivalent.
Disperse the colourant evenly in the required liquid component, then gradually add the powder while mixing mechanically at low speed. Consistent dosage across working batches is important for both consistency and colour uniformity.
How is the substrate prepared for Natture over tiles or screed?
Check substrate strength, stability, flatness, cracks and residual moisture. Non-absorbent surfaces such as tiles require a suitable bonding primer, while absorbent mineral substrates need a primer that regulates absorption. Level tile joints before applying the base coats.
Assess the need for Builtex reinforcement mesh on floors and critical substrates. Mesh does not replace repairs to an unstable substrate. Movement joints must be preserved and carried through the finished coating.
How are smooth, rustic, matt or satin finishes achieved?
Texture comes from the selected aggregate grade and trowelling technique. XL and L can create a more pronounced mineral surface, while M provides a finer finish. The degree of smoothing and application technique also affect the result. The final protective varnish contributes to the matt, satin or gloss appearance.
Assess colour on a completed sample using the actual pigment and sealer. A digital image cannot reliably reproduce relief, light reflection or all the tonal variation of a hand-applied finish.
What information is needed for a Natture quotation?
Provide floor and wall dimensions, photographs and a substrate description, interior or exterior use, and details of water exposure, heating and traffic. Specify the intended texture, colour and sheen.
The material schedule includes primer, XL or L base coats, the chosen finish, Acricem, pigment and protective coatings. Calculate consumption separately for each coat. A bucket price for Natture does not automatically include every component, substrate preparation or installation.
