Topciment Arcocem microcement pigments
Topciment Arcocem pigments colour compatible decorative systems using a specific formulation. The collection includes Arcocem Basic colours and pack sizes, dispenser bottles and separate Arcocem Plus system doses. SKU and quantity matter: a concentrate, prepared dose and sample colour are not the same thing.

Colour, pack and formulation
Arcocem Basic offers individual colour concentrates, including dispenser packs. Arcocem Plus listings in our catalogue are specific doses for the identified Efectto packs. Check the system and quantity addressed by the SKU before calculating how many packs to request.
The system affects the final colour
Base material, proportions, texture, layers and protective finish influence appearance. A bottle photograph or screen colour is not a formulation for the finished coating. For a consistent large area, plan the total quantities and use the same approved colouring specification.
Pricing the colourant
Send the desired colour or sample, exact microcement range and packs to be coloured. Area alone does not determine pigment dosage. Do not scale a recipe from a photograph or another product range; use the formulation for the particular combination.

Questions about Arcocem colourants
What is the difference between Arcocem Basic and Arcocem Plus?
Arcocem Basic is a range of concentrated liquid colourants used to prepare colour formulas for compatible materials. Arcocem Plus is a measured colour blend prepared for a particular system, colour and material quantity. This distinction matters: a base pigment concentrate is not equivalent to a ready-measured dose for one bucket.
Before selection, check the microcement range and exact pack size. Even if the intended shade is similar, a dose for Efectto is not automatically suitable for Sttandard or Natture.
Why are there different Arcocem WT Plus doses for 6 kg and 17 kg Efectto packs?
The doses correspond to different material quantities. A dose for 6 kg is not interchangeable with a dose for 17 kg, even when both carry the same colour name. Using the wrong dose changes the concentration and final shade.
Select the colourant for the exact system and bucket. Do not assume every prepared dose can be divided by eye or recalculated using one general formula. If a partial mix is required, measure quantities using the confirmed formula and homogenise them thoroughly.
How should microcement colour be selected, and is a photograph sufficient?
A photograph or screen swatch is a guide. Actual colour depends on the range, aggregate grade, trowelling, lighting and final protective varnish. The same pigment can look different on rough and smooth surfaces or beneath matt and gloss varnishes.
Use a physical sample of the completed system for final selection. When matching furniture, tiles or paint, compare samples in the actual room. Do not assume an exact RAL or other standard colour match without a defined formula and verified result.
How should pigment be mixed to avoid differences between batches?
Keep the material, liquid component and colourant quantities consistent in every working batch. In the relevant two-component cementitious and lime-based systems, disperse the colourant evenly in the liquid before adding the powder. Ready-to-use paste systems have their own procedure.
Homogenise the colourant before measuring and mix evenly, including material at the sides and bottom of the container. Consistent dosage limits mixing-related colour differences, although hand application still creates natural variation in the decorative finish.
Can one colourant be used in every Topciment product?
No. Compatibility depends on the binder, system and dosing method. Liquid Arcocem Basic, prepared Arcocem Plus doses and powdered concrete colourants serve different purposes. Do not arbitrarily add a pigment for one system to a varnish, epoxy component or decorative paint.
The base material also influences the resulting colour. Before ordering, specify the complete product name, pack size and intended shade. A colour name without the system is insufficient to select the correct dose.
Are all colours suitable for a façade or outdoor floor?
Exterior use requires checking the particular pigment’s light and weather resistance, along with the complete system’s exterior suitability. Arcocem Basic includes an exception for the intense red colourant Rojo Intenso, which may change colour under exterior exposure.
Do not automatically transfer an interior colour to a façade or terrace. Selection includes the exact pigment, underlying coating and UV-resistant protective layer. A completed sample helps assess the initial appearance but does not replace exterior-use requirements.
Can Atlanttic Aquaciment be coloured for a blue or differently coloured pool?
Atlanttic Aquaciment XXL and XL are installed in the specified white finishes. No colourant is added for the natural white finish. Do not arbitrarily add Arcocem Basic, Efectto doses or other colourants. Blue or green-looking water does not demonstrate that the pool coating itself has that pigment colour.
Appearance depends on depth, lighting, water and surrounding surfaces. If the project requires a specific colour for the immersed surface itself, select an appropriate complete system rather than changing the Atlanttic formula.
Can finished microcement be recoloured using pigment alone?
Pigment is an ingredient for colouring a compatible material, not a stand-alone coating for a completed floor or wall. Applying it over an old varnish will not create a uniform, durable new surface.
A colour change requires assessment of the existing coating, its condition, the necessary preparation and a suitable new decorative system. A local repair may also remain visible because of ageing, texture and differences in sheen. Plan a sample and finish a logically defined surface area.
