Topciment microcement
Topciment microcement comprises decorative systems for a continuous surface, with different base and finishing products. Compare powder, ready-to-use and epoxy options in this collection. The correct choice for a floor, wall or pool depends on the particular range, substrate and protective finish.

Choosing a microcement system
Sttandard and Unlimitted are two-component powder ranges; Evoluttion is mixed with water. Natture is lime-based microcement. Efectto Quartz and Efectto PU are separate ready-to-use systems, while Industtrial is an epoxy range. For pools, explore the specialised Atlanttic Aquaciment system.
Base coat, finish and protection
Microbase, Microdeck and Microfino identify different roles and textures within their respective ranges. A fine wall finish is not automatically suitable for a floor. Check the primer, reinforcement, pigment and sealer required by the technical sheets. Structural and movement joints must not be disregarded to achieve a seamless appearance.
Microcement cost per m²
A finished-area price includes more than the principal material: substrate condition, preparation, layers, protection and labour all matter. The calculator estimates materials for its supported system; it does not automatically size every range in the catalogue. Send separate surface areas, photographs, the desired finish and project location for a specific quotation.

Choosing Topciment microcement: questions and answers
What types of Topciment microcement are available, and how do they differ?
Sttandard and Unlimitted are two-component cementitious systems mixed with Acricem resin. Evoluttion is a single-component powder mixed with water. Natture is a two-component lime-based decorative coating. Industtrial is an epoxy system for interiors, while Atlanttic Aquaciment is designed for swimming pools.
Efectto Quartz is a ready-to-use paste system for interior walls and lightly trafficked floors. Efectto PU is a separate two-component polyurethane system. Selection depends on the substrate, traffic, water exposure and intended finish; the term “microcement” does not imply identical performance.
Which microcement is suitable for floors and which for walls?
In the Sttandard and Evoluttion ranges, Microbase forms the base coats, Microdeck is the floor finish, and Microfino is intended for walls and non-trafficked surfaces. Sttandard Microstone offers a more pronounced mineral texture for outdoor areas. The usual Industtrial floor build-up has XL base coats and Medio finish coats; walls use Base coats followed by Liso finish coats.
In Efectto Quartz, Big Grain is finished with Small Grain on walls or Medium Grain on lightly trafficked floors. Efectto PU also distinguishes Big Grain, Medium Grain and Small Grain, but has different components and properties. Do not substitute a finer wall material for a floor finish simply to obtain a smoother appearance.
Is microcement suitable for bathrooms and shower areas?
Yes, provided the complete system is selected for the surface and its water exposure. A shower floor needs a suitable floor finish, falls towards the drain, correctly detailed junctions and the required substrate waterproofing. Its protective sealer must be compatible with the system and suitable for wet areas.
Material water resistance does not automatically resolve drains, pipe penetrations or corners. Efectto PU is a low-water-absorption system for wet areas, but is not intended for swimming pools. Permanent immersion requires a separate assessment using Atlanttic Aquaciment.
Can microcement be applied over existing tiles?
With a suitable system, yes, if the tiles are firmly bonded and there are no hollow areas, debonding or unresolved moisture problems. The surface is degreased, mechanically prepared where necessary, tile joints are levelled and an appropriate bonding primer is applied. Reinforcement mesh is included according to the system and substrate condition.
Movement joints must remain functional. This renovation method does not apply to every range: Atlanttic Aquaciment must not be applied directly over pool tiles or mosaic. Loose coverings must first be removed or repaired.
Which ranges can be used on terraces or outdoors?
Sttandard Microstone is developed for outdoor areas, while Natture and Unlimitted include interior and exterior applications. Efectto PU also has exterior uses. Selection includes the exact base and finishing materials, protective sealer, UV exposure and slip-resistance requirements.
Falls, drainage and movement joints remain part of the project. Industtrial is an interior system, and Efectto Quartz is selected for interior applications. A product described as a floor finish is not automatically suitable for an exposed terrace or vehicle traffic.
How thick is microcement, and will it level an uneven floor?
Microcement is a thin decorative coating that follows a prepared substrate. It does not replace a levelling screed or correct substantial changes in level. Thickness is specified for the particular system and each individual coat; Atlanttic Aquaciment, for example, has a different build-up from ready-to-use paste coatings.
Before selection, check flatness, residual moisture, substrate strength and cracks. A compatible levelling layer may be required. Applying a microcement coat excessively thickly can impair drying and finish quality.
What should a complete microcement material specification include?
A complete specification generally includes preparation and primer, base and finish coats, suitable colourant and protective coating. Mesh and filling materials depend on the substrate. Two-component products require both components in the correct ratio.
Acricem is used with the corresponding cementitious and lime-based systems, Acricem Pool belongs to Atlanttic, and Industtrial and Efectto PU have their own hardeners. Placement in the same collection does not establish interchangeability. Check whether the listed pack contains component A, component B or a complete kit.
What determines the cost of microcement per square metre?
The cost of a finished surface depends on area, substrate condition, selected range, coat build-up, colour, sealer and detailing. Stairs, recesses, drains and small rooms involve different labour requirements from a large flat floor. The price of one pack is not the price of a finished square metre.
The microcement calculator provides indicative material quantities. For a specific quotation, send dimensions, photographs, intended use and details of underfloor heating or moisture. Materials, preparation and installation should be distinguished in the quotation.
