Choose the technology before the colour
Pure Mettal uses separate components, Classic Mettal provides decorative metallic effects, and Elitte Glaze and Elitte Glitter add different visual accents. Emottion is a separate tile-paint range. These materials are not universal substitutes for microcement or floor varnish.
A sample reveals more than a screen
The final appearance depends on the substrate colour, preparation, tools, lighting and protective finish. For projects spanning several surfaces, clarify whether you want identical colour or a related effect on different materials. A sample area helps assess the result before treating the full project.
What belongs in the quotation?
Specify the range, colour or effect, area and substrate. Check the required second component for two-component products. A metallic-effect activator has a separate function and does not replace a hardener. Preparation, required system layers and application are considered separately from the pack price.

Questions about decorative paints and metallic effects
What is the difference between Pure Mettal, Classic Mettal, Elitte and Emottion?
Pure Mettal is a two-component decorative coating with metal powder and its own resin. Classic Mettal is a ready-to-use metallic-effect decorative paint. Elitte Glaze creates translucent metallic effects, while Elitte Glitter contains decorative glitter particles. Emottion is a single-component water-based polyurethane paint for the relevant walls and ceilings, including ceramic wall coverings.
The ranges differ in composition, preparation and use. Metallic colour, genuine reactive oxidation and tile painting are different techniques. Start selection with the surface type and intended effect.
Can old tiles be painted with Emottion without primer?
Emottion can be applied directly to suitably prepared ceramic wall tiles without a separate primer. This does not eliminate cleaning, degreasing or removal of silicone residues, loose areas and incompatible old coatings. The substrate must be sound and stable.
Other materials may require different preparation. Paint does not level tile joints like a filling layer: the tile and joint relief may remain visible. A continuous level surface requires a separate preparation and decorative-coating system.
Can decorative paint be used on a floor or in a shower area?
Not every range is intended for these uses. Pure Mettal and Classic Mettal are considered for decorative non-trafficked surfaces, while Emottion is not automatically a floor-tile paint. Elitte has floor applications as a decorative effect within a compatible complete system with the appropriate protection.
A shower area requires assessment of water exposure, substrate, details and final coating. Paint does not replace waterproofing and should not be assumed suitable for permanent immersion. Specify whether the surface is a wall, floor or furniture before selecting the product.
How does Mettal Activator create an oxidised-metal effect?
Mettal Activator is a reagent that produces an oxidation effect on compatible decorative metallic coatings. It is not a universal pigment, primer or anticorrosion protection. The metal, underlying coating and application method determine the shade and pattern of the effect.
Make a sample using the selected Pure Mettal or Classic Mettal variant and the corresponding final protection. Metals do not all react alike, and not every metallic paint can be activated. Decorative oxidation is not equivalent to protecting structural steel from corrosion.
Does Pure Mettal require component B, and can Acricem be used?
Pure Mettal is a two-component product: metal component A is mixed with its own liquid component B. Use the ratio specified for the metal and product pack. Acricem microcement resin is not a substitute for Pure Mettal resin.
When ordering, check whether the entry contains only the metal component, only the resin or a kit. Plan mixed working time and preparation in advance. Classic Mettal is a separate ready-to-use range and does not automatically follow this mixing procedure.
What is the difference between Elitte Glaze and Elitte Glitter?
Elitte Glaze creates a translucent decorative effect with metallic reflection, allowing the underlying colour to contribute to the result. Elitte Glitter creates an effect with individual glitter particles. Appearance depends on the substrate, quantity, tool and direction of light.
These products should not be compared as opaque paints with identical hiding power. Choose from a finished sample over the intended base colour and with the planned protective coat. On floors, the decorative effect forms part of a system suitable for the relevant traffic.
Does a decorative metallic coating need a protective varnish?
Final protection depends on the range, treatment and use. With metallic and oxidation effects, it affects both surface durability and appearance. Not every varnish is compatible with every decorative product or with an activator reaction that has not finished.
Specify interior or exterior use, water contact, cleaning frequency and intended sheen. The sample should include every layer. A metallic appearance does not itself establish scratch resistance, watertightness or suitability for a trafficked floor.
What information is needed to select decorative paint and calculate quantities?
Provide the area, substrate material and condition, and any existing coating. Specify wall, ceiling, furniture or floor use, interior or exterior exposure and the intended effect: uniform colour, metallic reflection, glitter or oxidation.
Calculate quantities for the exact range, technique and coat count. Pure Mettal also requires component B, plus any necessary preparation, activator and protection. A 1 kg or 1 L pack does not cover the same area across different products.
