Topciment tools and consumables

A typical set includes a suitable mixer and paddle, accurate measuring equipment, base- and finish-coat trowels, sanding equipment with suitable abrasives, and priming and varnishing tools. Corners and narrow areas may require specialist trowels or spatulas.
Select the set for the exact range and substrate. A ready-to-use paste system, powdered microcement and two-component epoxy coating do not require identical mixing and application procedures. Mesh and profiles are separate elements of the system build-up.

Eolo is a lightweight stainless-steel trowel for microcement base coats on walls and other non-trafficked surfaces, including ceilings. Ares is intended for applying microcement base coats on floors.
The distinction concerns the tool’s intended task and handling. Choose according to area, aggregate grade and application technique. A base-coat tool is not automatically the best choice for fine final smoothing.

Zeus has a polycarbonate blade and is used for finishing while limiting dark marks associated with steel trowelling. Atenea is a flexible stainless-steel trowel for pressure control and final smoothing. Afrodita is more compact, with a polished steel blade, for smaller decorative patterns and pronounced contrasts.
The result also depends on material, application stage and pressure. A suitable tool does not replace technique or a trial area. Keep edges clean and undamaged to avoid leaving marks.

Builtex is a fibreglass mesh incorporated into the relevant microcement systems according to substrate and loading. Different areal weights, such as GR50, GR58 and GR160, do not mean the heaviest mesh is automatically best for every thin coat.
Select the compatible mesh and embedding method for the system. It does not replace repairs to an unstable screed, structural strengthening or preservation of movement joints. When ordering, distinguish areal weight in g/m² from roll dimensions.

Width alone is insufficient for selection. WT concerns the corresponding water-based products, while DSV applications require roller resistance to the coating’s solvents. Fibre material, pile length, shedding and the permitted application method matter.
Use a roller compatible with the exact varnish and required film thickness. Check whether the product entry is a sleeve, handle or set, and whether its price is per tool or per pack. WT Spray requires suitable spray equipment rather than selection of a roller alone.

Select grit according to the range and stage: correcting a base coat, preparing a finish and abrading between protective coats have different requirements. A lower P number indicates a coarser abrasive, while a higher number indicates a finer one. Finer is not automatically appropriate for every operation.
Do not transfer one sanding sequence between cementitious, paste and epoxy systems. Excessive sanding can expose an underlying coat or alter the decorative effect. Also check diameter, attachment and compatibility with the machine’s dust extraction.

Castor and Polux corner trowels assist with internal and external right-angle details. Select the corresponding model for the geometry. Aluminium profiles serve specified finishing and separation details according to coating thickness and construction.
A profile does not automatically replace a movement joint or permit microcement to bridge an active joint. Check height, length and intended use, as well as whether the product entry is a single profile or a pack.

Check the full name, dimensions, material and delivered quantity of each entry. Some rollers, profiles and abrasives are listed in packs; a photograph of one tool does not necessarily mean a single-unit pack. Calculate mesh by area with the overlaps required by the system.
For a project tool set, specify the microcement range, floor and wall areas, number of applicators and existing equipment. This distinguishes reusable tools from consumables and avoids incompatible sizes or unnecessary duplication.
