Sikafloor®-151 is a 2-component, low-viscosity epoxy resin used as an epoxy primer for concrete, cement screeds and epoxy mortars. It is best suited for low to medium absorbent substrates where good penetration, strong adhesion and reliable preparation are required before an epoxy or polyurethane flooring system.
The product is multifunctional: it can be used as a primer, as a binder for levelling mortars and screeds, and as part of Sikafloor systems for garages, automotive service workshops, warehouses, work areas, commercial spaces, microcement and decorative flooring solutions. Selection should be based on the porosity and strength of the substrate, moisture, expected traffic load and the subsequent layer.
When should you choose Sikafloor®-151?
- For low to medium absorbent concrete - when the substrate is not highly absorbent but requires epoxy priming before a system is applied.
- Before epoxy and polyurethane floor coatings - as a system primer for Sikafloor solutions on concrete and cement screeds.
- For levelling mortars and screeds - when an epoxy component with good penetration and adhesion is required.
- For professional flooring systems - for garages, service workshops, warehouses, workshops and other interior concrete areas with defined loading requirements.
Sikafloor®-151 or Sikafloor®-150?
Both products are epoxy primers, but they should not be selected on price alone. Sikafloor®-150 is a strong choice for normally to highly absorbent substrates and is already optimised as a primary primer for concrete. Sikafloor®-151 is the more precise choice when the substrate has low to medium absorbency and fast curing, low viscosity and good penetration are required.

Practical guidance before application
- The substrate must be sound, clean, dry and free from dust, oils, cement laitance or weak old coatings.
- Cracks, voids and weak concrete must be treated before priming, because the primer does not compensate for structural defects.
- Check the moisture content, temperature, dew point and working time according to the Sika technical data sheet.
- If the system is for an automotive service workshop, garage or warehouse, the choice of finish and broadcast aggregate should be matched to the loading and cleaning requirements.
Packaging and ordering
Sikafloor®-151 is supplied as a ready-to-mix 30 kg set. When ordering, it is advisable to specify the floor area, substrate condition, desired subsequent layer and whether the system will be smooth, textured or quartz broadcast. This allows the primer to be selected as part of a working flooring system, rather than as a standalone product without context.
