Sika® Igolflex® P-01 DE is a ready-to-use water-based bituminous primer designed for substrate preparation before thick-layer bituminous coatings and bituminous sheet membranes. It is used to improve adhesion and consolidate the substrate in Igolflex and other bituminous waterproofing systems.
Where is Sika® Igolflex® P-01 DE used?
- On concrete - before polymer-bitumen coatings and bituminous membranes.
- On mortars and masonry - when the substrate needs to be prepared and made uniform before waterproofing.
- On wood - where the system and technical detail allow such use.
- As a system primer - before Sika® Igolflex®-101 DE and other suitable bituminous coatings.
Main advantages
According to the technical data sheet, the product can be applied by brush, roller or airless spray, has good adhesion to dry and slightly damp substrates, is easy to work with and provides good coverage. As a primer, it helps prepare the substrate for the next bituminous layer, but it does not replace the waterproofing membrane itself.

Important limitations
- Do not use in contact with drinking water.
- Do not use as an exposed coating under constant weathering and UV light.
- Do not use under water pressure or permanent immersion in water.
- Before full application, create a test area if the substrate is highly porous or uncertain.
