Select aggregates, sealers and ancillary products as components of a particular flooring system. Quartz sand, decorative chips and protective finishes have different roles. Compatibility, grading, consumption and application method matter.
Filler and broadcast aggregate
Quartz sand may be used as filler or broadcast aggregate only when the exact grading is specified for the system. Different sizes must not be substituted arbitrarily. Aggregate for a resin coating is not automatically a hardener for fresh concrete.
Decorative effect and sealer
MC-Dekorchips M1 is a decorative broadcast material for suitable flooring systems. Assess colour, broadcast density and sealer together. The decorative material is not presented as a standalone floor or evidence of a slip-resistance class.
Quantity and working conditions
Specify the exact principal product, system data sheet, grading and area. Filler consumption differs from broadcast consumption; handle excess material according to the application method. Storage and filler condition must also meet system requirements.
Product examples from the catalogue
Each product has its own intended use and system limitations. Review the exact descriptions and data sheets:

Glass beads and thixotropic additive
The official MC-DUR TopSpeed workbook describes 100–200 µm glass beads in a TopSpeed T/M sealer. The separate system with 200–300 µm beads uses a different grading. MC-Stellmittel TX 19 is a thixotropic component in specified flooring systems. Follow the exact components and dosages of the selected solution.
Frequently asked questions: flooring aggregates, sealers and ancillary products
Are quartz sand and decorative chips the same?
No. They differ in composition, grading and role. Use the exact component specified for the decorative or technical result.
Can the quartz grading be substituted?
Only if the system documentation permits it. Grain size affects texture, consumption and coating performance.
Is every quartz aggregate suitable for fresh concrete?
No. A system aggregate for resin coatings is not automatically classified as a concrete dry-shake surface hardener.
Is MC-Dekorchips M1 a finished coating?
No. It is a decorative broadcast material within a suitable flooring system. Select the base coat and required sealer separately according to the documentation.
Does aggregate establish a slip-resistance class?
Not on its own. Assess the completed system with its particular grading, consumption, binder and finish.
Do filling and broadcasting have the same consumption?
No. Take the quantity from the system data sheet for the chosen method, grading and required effect.
How are quantity and cost calculated?
From area, preparation, consumption of the specific layers and details. Compare the same scope of materials and installation.
Can products from different brands be combined?
Only with established compatibility for the particular system solution. Sharing a category does not establish that arbitrary materials work together.
