SikaShield® P32 PE 2.5 kg/m² is an APP-modified bitumen waterproofing membrane for flat roofs under a protective layer or ballast and for reinforced concrete slabs. It is used as a base layer in multi-layer systems where torch-applied bitumen roll waterproofing with controlled layer weight is required.
When to choose SikaShield P32 PE 2.5 kg/m²?
This product is suitable when you need a bitumen membrane for a roof or slab that will function as the lower/base layer in a system, rather than as an exposed finishing layer. The upper and lower surfaces are finished with polyethylene film, which supports bonding with the upper layer when correctly torch-applied.

Important limitation: not a UV finish
SikaShield® P32 PE 2.5 kg/m² is not suitable as a finishing layer for roofs permanently exposed to UV radiation. If the membrane will remain visible and exposed to sunlight, a mineral-surfaced top membrane such as SikaShield® P34 MG RO 4.5 kg/m² is more suitable.
Substrate preparation and application
The substrate must be uniform, firm, smooth, clean, dry and free from sharp protrusions, oils, grease, bitumen, dust and loose particles. Apply a suitable Sika primer to the prepared dry surface and allow it to dry. For torch application, heat the substrate and the underside film, then press the membrane onto the substrate to achieve good adhesion.
Overlaps and detailing
According to the TDS, a side overlap of at least 100 mm and an end overlap of at least 150 mm must be provided, unless otherwise required by the project or manufacturer. On slopes above 15%, the multi-layer roofing system must be carefully designed and mechanical fastening used where necessary.

Send the area, substrate type, slope, whether the membrane will be used as a base or top layer, and the planned protective layer. This helps select the correct SikaShield membrane and calculate a realistic number of rolls including the required overlaps.
