Sika® MultiSeal - Self-Adhesive Bitumen Roof Tape

Sika® MultiSeal is a self-adhesive bituminous sealing tape for fast repair, sealing and protection of roof and façade details. The tape is laminated with aluminium or copper metal foil and reinforced with polyester film.

When should you choose Sika MultiSeal?

Choose Sika® MultiSeal when leaking roof gutters, broken roof tiles, chimneys, skylights, sheet metal roofs, façade details, caravans, trailers, office containers or air ducts need to be repaired and sealed. It is a self-adhesive bituminous tape for local repairs, not a membrane for joints under water pressure.

Preparation and application

The substrate must be sound, clean, dry and free from dust, oils, old sealants or paints with poor adhesion. Cut the tape to the required length, remove the release film and press the tape firmly onto the substrate with a pressure roller. Adhesion can be improved by heating the tape and/or the substrate during application.

Important limitations

• Do not use on natural stone.
• Do not paint with solvent-based paints.
• On porous substrates, water may penetrate under the tape, which can affect adhesion.
• Do not use for joints exposed to water pressure or permanent contact with water.
• Not suitable for overhead application at high temperatures above +25 °C.

Please send details of the element to be repaired, the width and length of the area, the substrate material, the colour and whether permanent water exposure will be present. This helps select the correct width and length and determine whether MultiSeal or MultiSeal BT is more suitable.
