Sika MonoTop®-120 Seal is a 1-component cementitious waterproofing mortar for concrete and masonry. It contains penetrating crystallizing additives that help seal the concrete and limit water penetration.
When to choose Sika MonoTop 120 Seal?
Choose Sika MonoTop®-120 Seal when you need a 1-component cementitious waterproofing product to which only water is added. The product is suitable for horizontal and vertical concrete surfaces and can be used to protect concrete structures against water ingress under positive and negative pressure: water tanks, swimming pools, bathrooms, underground structures and facilities.

Preparation and application
The concrete must be sound, clean, free from cement laitance, grease, oils and friable particles, with pull-off strength above 1.0 N/mm². The substrate is mechanically cleaned to an open porous texture and thoroughly pre-wetted. The first coat is applied with a notched trowel, and subsequent coats are applied crosswise to the previous coat after it has hardened sufficiently.
Important limitations
- Do not exceed the recommended water quantity.
- Do not add extra water during finishing, as this may cause discoloration and cracking.
- Protect from rain for at least 4-6 hours at +20 °C and from freezing after application.
- On horizontal surfaces subject to traffic, the product must be mechanically protected, for example with a concrete layer or ceramic tiles.
- Before applying a protective layer, wait at least 3 days at +20 °C.
Before ordering
Please send the area, substrate type, whether there is positive or negative water pressure, cracks, active leaks and whether the waterproofing will be exposed to traffic or tiled. This determines consumption, number of coats and the need for additional repair products.
