Sika BlackSeal® BT is a 1-component butyl rubber sealant and adhesive for external sealing, bonding and repair of roofs, walls and other building elements. It is suitable where a black sealant with good adhesion to various construction materials is required.
When to choose Sika BlackSeal BT?
Choose Sika BlackSeal® BT for local sealing, bonding and repair of roof and façade details where the substrate is a construction substrate, sound and suitably prepared. The product is practical for openings, cracks and assemblies because the high-solids formula fills without shrinkage according to the TDS.

Application
The substrate must be clean, dry, sound and homogeneous, free from oils, grease, dust and loose or friable particles. When sealing assemblies, apply a sufficient amount of Sika BlackSeal® BT, press the surfaces together while the material is still tacky and leave an approx. 2 mm film of sealant.
Important limitations
- Sika BlackSeal® BT cannot be painted.
- Do not use for underwater joints, glazing, swimming pools or natural stone.
- Do not apply in direct contact with other sealants or adhesives without a compatibility test.
- A compatibility test must be carried out before use on plastic.
Before ordering
Send details of the element to be sealed, the materials on both sides, whether moisture is present, whether it will be painted and whether there is permanent contact with water. This helps confirm whether BlackSeal® BT is the right choice or whether another Sikaflex / SikaSeal product is needed.
