Microcement for bedrooms is a decorative choice for floors and feature walls with mineral texture. Select the system for the surface, and assess colour and finish alongside the furniture and room lighting.

Floors and feature walls have different roles

Choose the floor system according to daily foot traffic, furniture and cleaning. For walls, substrate, texture and decorative effect are the main considerations. The two surfaces do not necessarily need the same preparation or sealer.

Colours and a matt appearance

Assess warm neutral or cooler tones using a sample in daylight and evening light. The sealer may change colour intensity and sheen. A sample helps establish expectations for natural variations in a hand-applied texture.

Substrate and underfloor heating

For the floor, establish screed type and condition, moisture, joints and heating system. Application and heating start-up conditions follow the selected system.

How to prepare your enquiry

List floor and wall areas separately, with substrate, existing coatings and desired finish. This allows materials and preparation to be calculated for each surface.

Choosing a microcement system

Start with the substrate, room and desired texture. State the area, whether it is a floor or wall, and whether there is direct water exposure or underfloor heating. This information helps select suitable base coats, pigments and sealers from the chosen brand’s system.
