Sika-Antifreeze® 1% is a liquid admixture for winter concreting that accelerates early strength development at moderately low temperatures. The formula is chloride-free and suitable for reinforced concrete and prestressed elements when concrete works need to continue under the risk of mild freezing.
When to choose Sika-Antifreeze 1%?
Choose Sika-Antifreeze® 1% when concrete needs to reach critical early strength faster in cold weather. The admixture does not replace correct winter concreting practice, but it helps during mild daytime freezing, night-time temperature drops and cold periods when the formwork, reinforcement and fresh concrete are protected in accordance with the TDS.

Important conditions for winter concreting
The admixture must be added to the mixing water or after the components have been mixed, but not directly to dry cement. When added separately to fresh concrete, additional mixing for approximately 3 minutes is required. The formwork and reinforcement must be free from ice and snow, and the fresh concrete must be protected against heat and moisture loss until the required early strength is achieved.
Before ordering
Please send the expected temperature, the cement content in the mix design, the concrete volume and whether the work will be carried out on site or at a concrete batching plant. This allows the actual quantity of admixture to be calculated and helps assess whether additional winter concreting measures are required.
