Microcement SikaDecor® – application, advantages, and installation

Stages of laying decorative systems

Laying the flooring systems

1. Surface preparation:

  • Grinding to achieve a solid and textured surface.

2. Leveling the substrate (optional):

  • 2 - 3 mm - Sikafloor®-81 EpoCem.
  • 4 - 30 mm - Sikafloor® Level-30.

3. Priming the substrate:

  • 0.3 - 0.5 kg/m2 - Sikafloor®-150/151.
  • 0.1 - 0.5 mm - quartz sand sprinkle

4. Base layer:

  • SikaDecor®-801 Nature – 2 layers with a total thickness 1,5 - 2 mm.

5. Sealing layer:

  • 1 - 2 layers Sikafloor®-304 W.

  • At high loads:

    • 1 layer of Sikafloor®-169.

    • 1 layer of Sikafloor®-304.

Installation of wall systems

1. Surface preparation:

  • Cleaning and, if necessary, sanding.

2. Leveling the substrate:

  • 2 - 8 mm layer SikaDecor®-803 Nature.

3. Priming:

  • SikaTop®-10 – for cement surfaces and ceramic tiles.

  • SikaTop®-50 – for plaster, drywall, MDF boards, and others.

4. Base layer:

  • SikaDecor®-801 Nature – 2 - 3 layers with a total thickness 1 - 1.5 mm.

5. Sealing layer:

  • 1 - 2 layers of Sikafloor®-304 W.

Mixing and application

Mixing ratio of SikaDecor®-801 Nature

  • 3:10 (component A to component B). Small variations in the ratio are possible.

Method of application

  • Application – filling in an individual way to achieve the desired effect.

  • Sanding – Sanding is done after each layer. The grit of the sandpaper can be changed if necessary, from coarse to fine.

  • Sealing – applied with a brush or roller.
